We walked along the streets for some time, and then ended up running into a ferry ride! They were cheap, but since it was one of the last ones there wasn't a ferry for the way back. It was a good 15 minute ride above a large trail park.
We ended up 30 minutes by car from where we were, but we couldn't find a way to get home. There were no taxi's or buses going into Madrid. I had to manage downloading Uber and remembering my passport number, as my phone was running out of battery and we were loosing sunlight! It was pitch black by the time we were able to get a ride.
